Afri-Youth Support Organisation
Afri-Youth Support Organisation (AYSO) is a Ugandan Member Based Organization started in May 2011 by seven members and registered as a local NGO under Reg. No. 10287 in 2014 by NGO Board of Uganda Under Ministry of Internal Affairs. AYSO deploys an innovative integrated end-to-end, peer to peer, and participatory model through a multi-pronged approach leading to production of high-quality products, trainings, standards maintenance, strong leadership development, self-confidence and esteem among members.

Being results / impact oriented organisation, we are ready to partner with or affiliate to any individual, organisation or company with similar goals. Mr. Kabuye Samuel a talented and experienced Pumpkin farmer, Trainer and Marketer is the leader.

Our Target Population
AYSO major target population are the youths, women, informal sector and vulnerable people since they form the largest percentage of our country’s population, voiceless and incapacitated.

To build capacities and capabilities of the youths through Education and training while instilling in them God fearing values for self-sustainance.​

Objectives

  • To support the poor, orphans and vulnerable youths to access education through giving bursaries and career guidance to the youths at all levels of education.
  • To sensitize Youth on HIV/AIDs spread, prevention, treatment and counselling. To raise awareness of the youths to discover their talents.
  • To instill in the youths, need for participation in environmental protection.
  • To encourage the youths become self-reliant through establishing income generating projects and business training sessions.

Sub Objectives

  • To help unite youths amongst themselves without discrimination in religious denominations, color, financial, health status, gender, religion and or political status.
  • To sensitize the youths on their basic rights and need for education.
  • To do any and all lawful acts suitable users, desirable or proper accomplishment of the foresaid purposes directly or indirectly.
  • To promote health well-being of all people.
  • To build a spirit of togetherness, comradeship mutual help and contributing to the social, spiritual, and economic development of all people.

Our Achievements

Since in inception in 2011, AYSO made the following achievements:

  • Increased its membership from 7 to 389 including 379 home Based Workers.
  • Supported 7 vulnerable people to acquire education. They completed their education, now working and supporting other vulnerable people.
  • Obtained a donation from Tools with a Mission an NGO in UK on a cost sharing basis to support our tailoring training programme.
  • Set up 1 briquettes making and 2 tailoring workshops and trained over 120 participants in briquettes production and over 45 participants in tailoring.
  • Secured over 9 supply orders for different products and services mostly in textile from Lutheran World Federation. Most especially during COVID-19 time, which production was made by informal sector members (Home Based Workers).
  • Participated in a number of local exhibitions, both local and international congresses and workshop.
  • Supported over 20 Community groups in formation, leadership training and affiliations / partnership processes.
